Your privacy choices
Scout Ashes LLC · every choice in one place
This is your control panel. Everything below is a choice you can make — turn website analytics on or off, download or delete your data, decide what you share, and exercise your rights under the GDPR and other privacy laws. For the full detail on what we collect and why, read the privacy policy.
The short version. We don't sell your data and we don't run advertising cookies. Website analytics only run if you accept the cookie banner, and you can download or delete all your data from inside the app whenever you like.
Cookies & analytics on this website
Google Analytics stays off until you accept the cookie banner. You can change that decision — accept or reject — at any time, and rejecting means nothing loads and no analytics cookies are set. Consent withdrawal is as easy as granting it.
Also available any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
Download your data
Get a machine-readable copy of your account and everything in it — your fires, your ashes-lineage entries, your notes. This is your right of access and portability (GDPR Articles 15 and 20).
In the app: Settings → Privacy → Download your data
Delete your account
Erase your data on your terms. Deletion enters a 30-day grace period — signing back in cancels it — after which your personal data is erased or anonymised. You choose what happens to the ashes lineage you helped carry.
In the app: Settings → Privacy → Delete account
Manage what you share
Optional sharing is off unless you turn it on, and every switch is reversible. Choose who sees your fires, keep your exact location private (the shared map only ever uses a town-coarsened place), and decide whether other scouts can find you. Withdrawing a consent is a single toggle.
In the app: Settings → Privacy
Guardian consent for younger scouts
Under-age scouts can only use Scout Ashes with verified guardian consent. Until a guardian approves, optional sharing stays off. Guardians can review and change what they've allowed at any time.
In the app: Settings → Privacy → Guardian consent
Your rights, and how to use them
Depending on where you live — and always, under the GDPR — you have the right to:
- Access and port your data — Download your data, above
- Correct your data — edit your profile in the app
- Erase your data — Delete account, above
- Restrict or object to processing — turn optional sharing off in Settings → Privacy
- Withdraw consent — as easily as you gave it, in the app or the cookie banner
- Complain to your local data protection authority
You can also exercise any of these — or ask us anything about your data — by emailing info@scoutashes.com. We do not sell your personal information, so there is no "do not sell" request to make; if that ever changes, this page will tell you how to opt out.
Marketing & email
We only send you email that's part of the service — sign-in, guardian consent, and account notices. We don't run a marketing list. If we ever add optional updates, they'll be opt-in, and every message will carry an unsubscribe link.
